Follow these steps to replace the power supply for HP 280 G4 Small Form Factor PC:
- Before you begin: Remove the side panel, the optical drive, if installed, the front bezel, the hard drive cage, and the fan duct.
- Removal
- Press the release tab to disconnect the CPU power cable from the motherboard.
- Disconnect the power supply command cable from the motherboard.
- Press the release tab to disconnect the main power cable from the motherboard.
- Remove the four T15 Torx-head screws that secure the power supply to the rear of the chassis.
- Press the release latch at the inside edge of the power supply and slide the power supply into the PC before fully removing it from the unit.
- CAUTION: Before removing the power supply, make sure there are no other cables tangled with the power supply cables.
- Replacement
- There is a slot on the side of the power supply that slides over a large tab on the side wall of the chassis.
- Align the power supply slot slightly behind the chassis tab and lower the power supply into the chassis.
- Slide the power supply back until it locks into place next to the release latch.
- Replace the four T15 Torx-head screws that secure the power supply to the rear of the chassis.
- Reconnect the main power cable to the motherboard.
- Reconnect the power supply command cable to the motherboard.
- Reconnect the CPU power cable to the motherboard.

Caution: Improperly installing or replacing parts could damage your HP device or void your warranty. Before replacing any parts, check your warranty.
